Weekly Round-up 7th-12th October 2019

It’s been another busy week as always across Soccer Smart! Check out what’s been going on below….

ACFC’s young guns turn up the heat….

While the first team finds form, Alicante City FC’s “B” team and Under-19s teams both recorded heavy wins on the weekend as well as a follow up for the B’s mid-week. The U19s notching a 4-2 win away down the highway in Elche, whilst the u23 or “B” team bounced back from last weeks narrow loss with a big statement hammering their opponents 5-0. Returning striker Callum Harvey with 4 in a flawless team performance which included a world class free kick from midfielder Nathan Edgington. Proving it wasn’t a one-off they followed this up with another 4 goals in a win away to Elche Dream, Harvey again bagging two. With the first team struggling, having these two young and talented squads to lead the way is excellent for everyone at the club.

Academy Graduates making waves in Spanish football!

Whilst the Soccer Smart Academy maintains a huge success rate with academy graduates in pursuing football overseas, academy products are also making noise in the Spanish leagues as well. Former academy player Brian Mashingaidze, having signed with Preferente side Alicante CF last season has returned this pre-season and is currently running rings around 2a regional league, with 9 goals in six games. His academy counterpart also received clearance to play today, Angel Moulton will pull on the boots this weekend in the hopes of stealing some of Brian’s thunder for Alicante CF. Brian and

Angel will have to contend with Callum Harvey for the league’s top scorer though. Callum, another academy graduate sits on 6 goals in just two games for Alicante City FC and is surely pushing for a 1 st Team appearance soon to aid their goal drought. Further Academy boys are trialling this week, Idrissa Kamara and Carlos Rojas both joining Alfas del Pi for trials.

Pre-season approaches down under….

It’s that time of year again! Australian NPL and State League pre-season is just around the corner and offers a flooding in. Soccer Smart is the number one supplier of players to Australia, that’s why we’re the first ones clubs call when they need players. We’re also processing a large number of player applications to play down under as people begin to realise what a great opportunity it is to play there. Best of luck to all those prospective Australian signings!

Manchester trial day confirmed….

As the cold weather in the U.K. begins to set in, many players are beginning to realise playing in the U.K. isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. That’s why our regular trial days are hugely successful with players coming from all over to play in a showcase match, put their ability on show and put themselves forward to be a Soccer Smart player. Our next trial day will be on November 24 th in Manchester.

Soccer Smart Players on top in Canada….

The USA isn’t the only place our players find success, as Corey Bent will attest to. Having gained a scholarship for college in Canadian school CBU Corey has had a successful season pursuing both football and education, with CBU being ranked number one school in the entire country (it’s quite a large country) for Football. Congratulations Corey. Just don’t forget your studies!
