Weekly Round-up 4th-8th November 2019

ACFC young guns lead the way:

Alicante City FC’s senior teams continue to have mixed fortunes in their league campaigns, the U19s team continues to lead the way, carrying on unbeaten for 7 games. Featuring 1st team centre half Eric at the helm as well as Internationals from the UK, USA, Colombia and Algeria, four players have already featured for either the 1st or ‘B’ teams. The future certainly is bright for the ACFC next generation! New academy Month: This week saw the intake of a new batch of Spain Academy Attendees arriving and getting settled for a big month ahead. Lads of over six nationalities are now present in the Academy Villa as they get their heads down to train. The first week went well, the Academy getting to know their program as well as being thrown in at the deep end with a friendly against Alicante City FC U23’s. The City boys edged it 3-1, although good football as on show from both sides.

ACFC hold trials:

With the season marching onwards, unfortunately some players must leave us to continue their footballing journeys. Given this, ACFC are holding a new round of trials for our u23 and u19’s sides. With over ten nationalities being represented across our squads, ACFC are always on the lookout for top quality players looking to further their careers in Spain. UK Trial Day coming up:

Timing is everything in football, and off the field is no different. With the Australian League round the corner, the European transfer window opening in January and many European teams taking the half-way point in their season as a reassessment and recruitment period there’s no time like the present to look at playing overseas. Soccer Smart UK trial days are the perfect opportunity to showcase your abilities in front of our staff, gather video footage and learn more about the services Soccer Smart offer. Our next trial day will be held in Manchester on the 24th of November. Follow the link below for more info.

Soccer Smart Players amongst the accolades stateside:

US and Canadian College Soccer seasons are currently in full play-off fever. As College conference play-off competitions heat up, Soccer Smart players are well amongst the mix of players and teams receiving accolades and Silverware. First up British player Zack Hargreaves was named player of the week in the CrossRoads League in Indiana. North of the border in Canada, Charlie Waters kept up with his fellow Brit team mate Corey Bent in the limelight, being named in the AUS Championship as MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament. Finally, John Woodhead has been named in his College Conference Team of the Year! Keep up the good work boys, surely not the last we hear of these boys!
