Daniel Syson in action for Davenport City FC

On Monday we took a look at one of our star players from the weekend. Daniel Syson is in his fourth season playing football abroad in Australia and is starring for Davenport City FC this year in the second-tier of the Australian soccer pyramid. Life has been good for Daniel with him also starting up a barbering business down under too and it got even better last weekend. He came off the bench to score twice, including a dramatic 95th minute equaliser to secure a point for his side against Hobart Zebras.

Watch Daniel’s goals here.

You just have to watch this goal from our academy, it is simply incredible! We have some great coaches at our Spanish soccer academy and it’s great to see the lads taking on their advice, scoring wonderful team goals like this. It was a lovely, flowing move for this goal, starting by playing out from the back and ending with a very nice composed finish. You need to watch this goal!

Canada, a fantastic place to live and work

Canada, a fantastic place to live and work

On Wednesday another fantastic opportunity to play football abroad with the help of Soccer Smart came up. The chance to play and coach football in Canada arose this week with us being able to help potential applicants every step of the way if they were interested in the opportunity. Living in Canada is a dream for many and to combine that with getting paid to coach football too really is a great opportunity. Check out the tweet here if you think you have what it takes.

Our Spanish football academy boys with the Alicante City FC lads

Thursday night saw another big game for Spanish soccer academy lads as they took on our partner club Alicante City FC. It was to be a big test for our academy boys as they would be taking on a side who were recently promoted to the sixth tier of Spanish football. However, they acquitted themselves incredibly well and proved to be a match for Alicante City in this pre-season friendly match. In the end, the academy came out as 4-3 winners but more importantly, both sets of players got some more vital pre-season minutes under their belts. Our Spanish soccer academy lads have had a busy week with matches and training but it is always important to have some down time too. Our academy offers regular trips out to explore Alicante and the surrounding areas and this week was no different with the boys checking out some of the historic sites around Alicante.
