Soccer Smart Academy welcomes new arrivals

Our Spanish soccer academy players signing their contracts

At the start of each month our Spanish soccer academy, the Soccer Smart Academy welcomes its new recruits and this month is no different as on Monday our new players signed their academy contracts. Whilst they are with us, they will train like pros, living in our academy villa and having daily training sessions across the road on our academy pitch. There will also be regular matches for them to impress in which can lead to trialling with semi-pro and professional teams in Spain. Above is a picture of some of our newest players! Soccer Smart’s college players get started in the US

Speaking of new beginnings, more of the players which Soccer Smart helped gain USA soccer scholarships have started their new lives in America. The players will be training hard as the college soccer season kicks off and then will be combining their football with academics as they study for their degrees and start their lives as student-athletes. We’re pleased to say most of our lads got off to winning ways in their US soccer scholarships which is always great to see. Alicante City FC announce new signings

As well as our Spanish soccer academy welcoming a host of new players, our partner club Alicante City FC also did the same. The club is preparing for its first season in the sixth-tier of Spanish football following promotion last season and have bolstered their squad with many new additions as they look to continue up through the divisions.

Three of the club’s new players all have come from Soccer Smart USA’s Miami trial which was held earlier this year in May. The trio all attended the trial arranged by Soccer Smart USA as a way for talented players in America to potentially be scouted to play soccer in Europe. With three trial attendees now being confirmed as new Alicante City FC players, it is a clear sign that our trials can lead to players following their footballing dreams. Make sure you do not miss out on the next Soccer Smart USA trial if you’re based Stateside.

Alicante City FC B team and Under-19s play first friendlies

As well as the main Alicante City FC squad this year, there will also be a B team and an under-19 team playing under the ACFC brand. Both these teams are new this year with a clear pathway set up to the first team. This week the two teams had their first pre-season friendlies. The B team took on our very own Soccer Smart Academy and defeated them 2-1 in a close game. The under-19s also had a close game as they defeated Racing Playa San Juan 2-1.

At Soccer Smart we are proud of all our players who we place to play football abroad and alway keep up to date with their successes but this week we had an extra special success story to share. One of our very own players, spotted by Soccer Smart USA, Chaim Roserie received a call-up to play senior international football! Chaim was handed a maiden call-up to the Saint Lucia national team for their CONCACAF Nations League matches against El Salvador and Montserrat. We are delighted for Chaim who has gone from America to helping his team in Spain earn promotion to the third-tier of football last season.

Chaim is not the first player we have ever had called up for international duty however. In 2016 we had Ethan Francois-Ravalier called up to play for Guyana and he has since earned four caps. Read more about our two internationals by clicking the button below.
